RV chosen
So things just take time… and since we haven’t sold our house yet, fingers crossed, y’all. Please! Our ninth RV show in just over three years; I had only seen one Born Free before and was lucky enough to see them again at the RV show at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds last week. Only one thing stopped us from wanting one… one minor, though major to me, detail…. it was on a Ford chassis and there is just no foot room for a passenger in front on that chassis… especially not driving diagonally across the United States. I know thousands upon thousands of people ride in those vehicles, either up front or sitting elsewhere in the coach, but that is not my idea of fun (Don’t stop reading yet, you will miss the GREAT NEWS.) I want to be next to Leon where I can backseat drive within hearing distance. I must give him no excuses not to slow down or pull over at the next gorgeous view… not that he wouldn’t do the latter.
Leon approached the CEO, Doug Spencer, (or did he approach Leon?) saying we would buy one if it were on a Chevy Chassis…. never daring to dream he would answer it would be this year! This year!! They are arranging it all now… perhaps as early as June or July! Can you believe our luck? We were told Chevy was now offering a heavy enough chassis to meet Born Free’s requirements for the 24′ RB (rear bath). Had Leon not opened his mouth we wouldn’t have known yet. And Doug Spencer and Jim Downing, a factory sales representative, spent so much time answering our questions and offering information several times each over two days! Nothing I said was too dumb or not worthy of an answer. Never were we made to feel our interest was any less valuable to them than someone else who walked up. And more importantly, to me, they never pushed at us to go larger or get every option they sold.
The quality of workmanship was as outstanding as we had read, the safety has been publicized, that is what drew me to want to see one. Mr. Dodgen, the owner of Born Free was there, and we could have spoken to him, but I knew that if I did, I would never have shut up in my excitement. And when we came back he was already speaking with someone - and we had someone waiting for us.
So, whether you want the Ford that is already there waiting for you or you have time to wait for the Chevy (or are forced to by houses not selling, etc., check out Born Free. I think you will be glad you did, seriously glad.
Now, please, repeat after me, “Sell, Marcia’s and Leon’s house in WA. Sell, now.” (If enough people say it….)
And Jim, expect an email with more questions soon, very soon! Leon and I are going to begin living our next dream soon, and your product looks like it will play a major role. And I have a special build item I want y’all to make, if Leon won’t build it for me…. Other customers may just want it, you know.
