At least, that is what we tell ourselves. Had our house sold already, according to plan, we would be neither of those, but actual RVers, but that said, we would have not had more than a day or two to even learn the systems yet. We have been kept busy with Leon’s new career (and mine, too, since I am the admin assistant in practice, co-director on paper). We both desperately want our new Born Free this year - and to go on their Alaska trip, and who knows what might happen in the next month or two! Leon had given up on it, but I have put the dream back in him!
We have been discussing changes to the RV (I know, we have not even ordered it yet - and we are changing it - but that is 100 percent my nature - and Leon lets me get away with it. Just ask him about our house sometime, when you have a lot of time, because it is a long story.) I know it is only a 24 foot, but we have to be able to work from it if necessary - and that requires two computers, filing, research books, a printer/scanner/copier in some configuration, room to spread out papers, and somewhere to put my feet up.
The temporary apartment we rented in a hurry down here has no where to put our feet up, other than on our desks - and that does not get it for me, cuts off my circulation. We live quite literally in our desk chairs - work play eat, eat work play eat nod out work - get up and climb in bed, repeat except when out in the field - in the SUV. Don’t get me wrong, 90 percent of the time it is fine. My iMAC computer and I are the best of friends, and if I need a good argument to break the monotony and Leon is not available to harass, his PC fills in nicely since Windows and I are not exactly the best of friends. It is the weeks (more often than not right now) we don’t make it to the beach or just a neighborhood walk to stretch my legs that are frustrating.

So, we are working toward our goal, confident our house will get a reprieve from its loneliness and live happily ever after with another family. This week we start hunting for another apartment somewhere within 50 miles of here or so… unless we stumble on an RV park on the Southeast Coast between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach that is perfect. We considered moving to Lake Okeechobee, but that is just too far inland. We are not rushing this time… after all, we won’t be rushing once that Born Free is ours.
