One step forward

I rethought it. If I don’t take the next small step, at least by opening a dialog with the RV manufacturer, it is the same as telling the Universe, “I just don’t care if I ever get it,” the exact opposite of what we feel.  I already held back long enough. So, I emailed Born Free tonight to ask a few questions. Yes, it is a small step, but it is movement in the right direction.

That said, it is not the first step we have taken toward changing our lifestyle.  We have (don’t laugh!):

  • Created several blogs, although this definitely needs a new title to be our RV blog
  • Chosen to buy Dr. RV’s maintenance DVDs, since Leon is mechanical by nature
  • Did our first downsizing when we left Washington and are mentally prepared to further downsize
  • Know which  insurance agencies we want to approach first
  • Already  have the crockpots, tiny hand vacuum,  and his French Press, and other necessities
  • Have a camera, a laptop, and Verizon Broadband Wireless, and cell phones – my necessities!
  • Already bank and pay bills online
  • Have sleeping bags for those cold nights with no propane or electric
  • Have started putting our photos and important papers into the computer to lessen weight in the RV
  • Have emergency triangles, florescent vests, flashlights, fire extinguisher, and an extra smoke/carbon monoxide alarm

I could keep going with the little ways we have prepared… but someone stop me!

We, also have taken over the years: first aid and CPR classes — and C.E.R..T. certification… and though I know Leon remembers it well enough to put to use in an emergency, I’m not so sure I remember much of it, though I had to have retained some of it! Right? And I still have the C.E.R.T. book.

So, we are preparing so that when the time comes we can focus on learning “how to RV” –  we won’t have to learn how to relax, we know how to do that part!
