Evil lurks
Evil strikes
Evil backtracks to regroup

and
COMES
BACK
STRONGER

Have you found yourself
crawling farther back toward safety
from events that have squashed others
or could happen
or might be?

Then, realize
safety does not exist…

for our only true
safe haven
(in our past)

the one that became
an icon for safety -

was the womb

and today,
in this society,
even that is no longer
a protected area

No, I am not referring to
woman’s rights
or baby’s rights,

I am referring to knives of
men filled with hatred
and crazed women
wanting children
they do not have

they have proven
safety is pure fiction…
merely an illusion…
a never attainable goal…

and I wonder what other clues
we missed
and why we held onto
safety so long

I suppose we believed in magic….
