Come on! The election to the presidency of the United States should not be about woman, man, black, white, young, old, or rock ‘n roll or lack thereof. It is about qualifications.
Yes, it would be wonderful to know people in our country have progressed from the “old” days to see beyond color or sex — but it would be even better to know the masses are not voting for someone just because they are of one color or one sex.
Obviously we cannot know exactly what a candidate will do or who they will become once power becomes theirs, but we can make intelligent decisions; we can look for clues; we can think with our head rather than our emotions that have done us so poorly in other areas of our lives.
Granted you need to make your own decision; granted we should be excited about the accomplishments made by a minority in this country, be it color or sex; granted we should be proud of any good they have done, but that does not mean they are qualified to make decisions, especially decisions that may go against all their advisors when they know they are wrong.
This is not time for examining your hearts, but using your heads – or instincts, if you are one who has learned to recognize yours. Save your heart and raw emotion for your relationships and charity toward other human beings.

Well said. I’ve been thinking that for a long time.
