RV Poetry

Visited Time with Shelby today (and often). I can always count on her to post a photo I love, whether her own or one she found. She has a gift for finding the perfect photo to go with whatever she has written. Shelby’s playlist, at the bottom of her blog currently, has introduced me to music I would have never known was out there like “Just Let Me Touch You for a While”… Can you hear it? I’m listening to it as I type, grin.

Shelby loves music and, like with other things in life, our tastes are the same at times and at others — so very different. I love that about life. We can fine sameness or similarity in some aspect of another’s personality, wants, needs, or just likes, yet we can be totally different in other respects. Life can be fascinating, can’t it?

Shelby posted a video of Vonda Shepard singing here. Remember her from Ally McBeal? Amazing the memories it brought back of Leon making sure he was home to watch it with me, our “date” night. It also introduced me to Jon Bon Jovi,

I had never paid him much attention before. I certainly have since!

All that said, her post led me to Vonda Shepard on YouTube which led me to Joe Cocker (and more memories) and finally to something I would normally have listened to. I couldn’t help but get caught up in their performance:

Patti LaBelle is pretty awesome and I have always loved Joe Cocker’s earthiness and emotion.

Have a day of memories, y’all – and try to choose the good ones. They are there. Just look. Forget about today or tomorrow for five minutes. Then go out and make more smiles.

Oh, and before I forget, Shelby is not just another pretty face who loves music and photography, and of course, her kids. When she has something to say, especially about the law, law school, or politics, she throws it out there: Joe Biden – Great. Just What We Need

One of these days, I’m going to learn to say what I really think, too – more often than not.

   I enjoy her blog a lot, too. My favorite part is the 1000 posts series. She never updates that often enough to suite me

   You never paid attention to Bon Jovi before Ally McBeal?!?! Wow. I’m even considered a little “young” for the average BJ groupie and I followed him long before that
