We wish you all a Happy New Year. May 2012 be at the least, interesting; at the worst, fantastic!

Also, note: My brother rerecorded his single, “I’m Coming Home” – to put the emphasis on the words rather than be drowned out somewhat by the music. The song is on my sidebar. Good Job, Bill!

Also, I am introducing our Granddog, Nelly, who I call Nelly Belly. She is a Brindle Boxer, full of love and a bit headstrong. What a combination.

It was a great 2011 for our family, adding a new Granddog and a new Granddaughter, just topped it off.

Leon and Marcia

But not always for the worse. Well, except right now I am typing without seeing the keys. It is typing in white apparently since I upgraded WordPress.

We have a new grandchild. Our first! As soon as Leon finishes up his workamping at Amazon.com, we will go meet her! Yes, there is a lot of pink in our future, hers, too! Don’t expect us to have a princess for a granddaughter, though. Her mom has well adapted her tomboy side with her all girl side. I am quite sure her daughter will be as adept! I am sure our son will play his role in helping to round her out, as well.

Yes, our granddaughter was born on December 10th. Is not that the greatest thing?! I have been lax on my knitting, getting used to this RVing life style, and not having access to the yarn and needles I wanted when I had time and patience to work on the booties and hats. And there is the ‘issue’ of new places, new people, new gorgeous views to distract me.

Patience, you ask? It’s like this, I am not a person who can concentrate on anything other than the internet or a good book, lol. I am so easily distracted that I miss a stitch in the pattern, discover it way down the piece and have to rip out. Of course, I do not know the correct way to do that, so invariably I am untwisting or twisting stitches on most or all of the row when I start knitting again. It IS a labor of love, but….

(Hmmm, I had to edit it, you could not read some of my strange typos, lol. It shows up in black on HTML page, but not on visual page. No time to research the problem now!)

I leave you with a vision of hope for good days. I absolutely love this sky – it is the reflection of joy radiating from despair.

He, like most artists, really would like to have a Number 1. Have a listen to the song at Reverbnation via the widget on my side bar – and then click on Music Tampa Bay above to vote… assuming you would like to vote. The dude with the long hair – his current look, unlike the look below where he is doing the other thing he loves probably as much: making videos.

I knit a bit and make hats on the round plastic looms – occasionally, but I’ve decided to learn to crochet – I had crocheted an edging on a knit bikini about 40 years ago and that is it!

I played with the yarn the other day, my friend gave me one tip and I managed to make a tiny square to practice. I relaxed. I had fun trying. Perhaps, the time is just right.

The real reason I want to learn, though, is to ReVise and ReVitalize my life – start giving more – and relax at the same time. How? By teaching myself a simple skill that will allow me to make a few squares for Share A Square! If you aren’t sure what Share A Square is, just click here for Shelly Kneupper Tucker’s FAQ page on how you can help or here on the Facebook page where she posts regularly to update on how many squares have been sent in so far.

Today I waded through video after video on YouTube. I found a few that were quite helpful. The two below are the ones I decided to follow along with, I like the camera angles on these – I can see what they are doing.

There are so many others out there! So much can be learned via YouTube.

Wish me luck! But, more importantly, please pass on the links for Share A Square – after you have read them!

It used to be the only friends we had, the only variety we had in people, was limited to those in near vicinity. Depending on where you lived, played, or worked – “limited” was indeed limiting. The internet has changed that more than a simple pen pal or summer romance or camp experience. It brings us together, if only via written words, with people both similar and so totally different than we are.

Some people we meet turn into long term emails or phone calls, gradually shifting to friendship. Then there is the joy of finding their ‘in person’ personae is really no different than their ‘email’ one. I’m sure that doesn’t happen all the time, but in the case of C, a woman I first met many years ago in a Barnes and Noble Internet writing class, it did.

RVing allowed us to finally meet this fall. I am so glad we did! C was just as amusing and personable she appeared to be in writing. Leon had already taken to her via my ‘stories’, his opinion remained firm when they met.

Leon and I also got to meet Barbara and her husband Earl in AZ. I had been reading Barbara’s blogs off and on for years (I do everything off and on — well except run at the mouth, that is always in the ON position.) Another fun event. They were the perfect hosts and none of us were at a loss for words – or smiles.

Both Leon and I can’t wait to go back to visit them – and our former neighbors and good friends.

Between the internet classes and blogs – and our new to us RV, Panoply… my world has expanded. I am so grateful.

Speaking of grateful. I am grateful that Barbara chose to write a blog post about Leon and I. It is here. While you are there, check out her blog – all her blogs. Worth a visit for sure!

Now, if I could only talk C into blogging!

We are home, back at work, but kicking and screaming, so to speak. This may have been our first overnight in our RV, but we made it a L O N G overnight as we had prepared quite well. That is not to say we did not learn a bit as we went.

September 12, 2010 through November 5, 2010

I have not looked at odometer yet, but we traveled from Southeast Florida to Northwest Washington via two routes, a diagonal one going, South and East coming home.

Not only did Panoply, our 2006 Lazy Daze 26.5′ Mid Bath prove herself as the perfect RV for us, the trip proved we are RVers at heart.

We may live in a really nice rental house with perfect landlords, but Panoply replaced it as home in our hearts.

Did I say we laughed a lot?

More on our trip – and the changes we made to Panoply – to come.

- Posted using BlogPress/iPad which does not like to post my pictures correctly? OR? It was correct when it first posted…. Hmmmm.
