Ok, I have now totally lost it. But that is not unusual for me. I’m not sure I really intend on doing NaNoWriMo, but I’m going to type something tonight – out of the blue – and see where it takes me. Last year it took me nowhere, though I actually had an idea, but in 2006, no idea in hand, words flew out of my head onto the keyboard. I loved it. Those words will probably remain on my home computer. Sometimes one must hide their insanity. Grin.

(Note: I saved this as a draft and pulled up a blank text file and started typing… as in words flew out onto the keyboard. I typed about a page and started laughing at how ridiculous this month will be and decided sleep might be a good thing!)

That said, I had made the decision to resurrect my blogs today, not remembering NaBloWriMo was starting today. Great timing! I’ll post that here.

And then, Robert Brewer of Poetic Asides is tossing daily prompts at us this month. Prompts I can rarely resist. Those poems get posted in his comments.

If it isn’t midnight where you are, quick, click on the latter two and start writing. If you would prefer to write a novel, you can wait until tomorrow to start…. GRIN.

Come on y’all, let your minds and creativity fly!

Only the Good Friday, a meme from This Eclectic Life, started by Shelly’s desire to incite us! No, not to riot, though that is a more appropriate use of the word incite! She wants us to drop our daily blah, angst, downward spiral, anger, etc.. and post about good. Well, I’ve been lax at posting… bad, but only ’cause I was lost elsewhere in good….. Today, I am supposed to be working (yes, I like it, ONCE I GET STARTED!), but I had to check my twitter just once more, since I’ve been using it for a quick poetry outlet lately.

Twitter has become a quick source of inspiration for me – and practice at fewer words! (Yes, I need more practice.) More and more while in a hurry lately, I have spent time reading or tweeting. And just as one blog leads to another to yet another and a great discovery, a tweeter’s poetry prompt led me to tweet a Haiku or Senryu, which led a poet to my tweets, and following that person led me to this musician he was following.

I LOVE Pinstripe 45′s voice, the tone, the song. I get so excited when I discover a musician that evokes emotion.

So, my thought for Only the Good Friday: Make life your ‘recreational vehicle’: share, discover, indulge, feel, breathe, be, and SING! (And, of course, blog and tweet.)

Want to read what others came up with? Might surprise you. Click here for Shelly’s Only the Good Friday post and links to others who had something good to say today, as she is “spinning out of control”. or click icon below for explanation of Only the Good Friday.

What is your good?

If it’s not your music taste, well, while you are on YouTube, why not just randomly click on an artist or ? Most of you will like him, though, I think.

It has been established we would love to RV between WA and FL, had hoped to do it sooner, but it turned out public insurance adjusting does not always move quite as fast as we had imagined. (Yes, oh son of ours, you were correct.) So leaving each summer would not be a wise move for us — yet. We processed, chewed on, and swallowed that — without choking too much.

We wanted to get an RV and live in it down here rather than spend money on rentals, but there are not any parks that we either like or can afford close enough to the area Leon wants to be. That we processed, chewed on, and swallowed – finally, but we had a few coughing fits getting it down.

With our lease coming up and wanting an RV to ‘run from the storms’ if it were to be an active tropical season, we pulled out the “buy RV now plan” and rehashed it. Man oh man, it caused us a few more coughing fits, but in the end, living an extra hour and a half away from his offices and clients, considering the number of trips he makes to each, we finally forced it down.

And you know what? Though I constantly read, ‘go for your dream now,’ and do understand that ‘if you don’t go for it now — it could be too late,’ I, also have confidence we won’t get caught up in the ‘wait until the perfect time’ thing that trips most everyone up. I am far too impatient to wait for perfection, and I know it does not exist. And, though it took years to plant the RVing thought in Leon (or bring it out, whichever applies), it took hold.

So, we’ll just save a bit more money and then Leon can clean toilets at campgrounds if he wants – as long as I don’t have to — and as long as they are in the Pacific Northwest – but no more than four days a week, we will have hiking and kayaking and farmers markets to visit.

Yeah, our RV dream life will come — hopefully sans the toilet cleaning, but the Pacific Ocean and the Mountains are worth it to Leon – and as long as he washes his hands before he grabs that RV handle, it’s OK with me, too.

For now, I’m just living one of my other dreams; doesn’t really matter which one for the moment, as long as it is one of them. Yeah, some have more weight than others, but does that matter when you aren’t trying to shed any? (Could not resist, sorry.) For today, I will just enjoy the view of rain clouds and waves breaking!

Breaking Waves, Atlantic Ocean

Dream, it is healthy. Go for the ones you can, prepare for the ones just out of reach – otherwise you might not grab them when it’s time. And while you are making excuses to not go for your dream, check out Tales of Technomadia’s series, “Answers to Common Excuses not to Travel Full Time.” I’ve loved reading it.

I saw this last year and stumbled on it this year. Upload your best digital photo (nature related) and you could win a trip to a photography workshop in a most gorgeous place this year. Where? Click here and find out!

What? You don’t want to win? I understand that, for me it would mean another plane. Forget it. BUT… if you love photos and you love nature in all its forms, rush to the contest link and then click on the Flickr link that takes you to all the photos already entered. Incredibly cool. Besides, you may know someone who wants to enter. I’m telling a few people I know… and who knows, I may enter one of my photos… I must have one somewhere that is not embarrassing.

So, my Only the Good thought for Shelly of This Eclectic Life’s Only the Good Friday is the calming and healing powers of nature in all its glory, I’ve only looked at a few pages of the photos – and while looking I forgot about my most of the day headache-earache-lack of fresh air-neck-ache (caused when I played with Wii golf, bowling, baseball, and tennis against Leon a bit too aggressively when my headache took a break). (And the other good, in spite of feeling lousy, I got a lot of paperwork done for the business – and actually had fun doing it, between headaches.

And speaking of contests – and photo-related, Shelly has written about another one I’d love to win, no planes involved in that one. I’m getting ready to enter. Meet you in the comments here. Have a great weekend. Push those muscles into a smile.

It makes me smile – and made me spend 99 cents to add to my iPhone… Yes, you are right, I will play with it only occasionally and never bother to master it, but play brings smiles… (although in my case the smiles it will bring to you are ’cause I will be considerate and not play in public!) And yes, the tone could get annoying, I think after awhile, but this young man, plays it well:

For me it brings memories of Christmases long past: Driving down the road, Leon being a “trombone” (though I kept calling him a trumpet), Nigel and I singing Christmas carols.

Play at something today, y’all! Make more memories. I just did, Leon played a quick riff with his “trombone” for me again.

The wind made me smile today in South Florida, but tonight, my smile headed back to our ‘field trips’ through Washington state. I believe this photo was taken on the way to Leavenworth.

I think we need a quick field trip some 3900 miles away! Good thing we haven’t gotten our RV yet, we may have run away a bit prematurely.

Memories are so much fun to make — and ReVisit. Make some more!

Memories. Good Memories.

Key West, Florida — it has been on my mind recently. Leon and I were lucky enough to spend several anniversaries there. Yes it is touristy. Yes it is, also peaceful. Yes, it can be hot – and the world knows heat and I are arch enemies.

It still has a hold on us both.

But, the last few months have had a few extra stressors, and though those stressors have eased (Yes!) we both feel the need for a trip – just the two of us – but we are planning to attend a family reunion this year in England….

I found via several other blogs an interesting blog: Travels with Two – The Travel Blog for Couples. Their travels include Europe, Canada, the U.S. – and so on, but what caught my attention was their article on Key West which led me to many photos – and memories of our anniversaries there.

If you don’t know Key West, they give you its flavor, the less touristy parts, if felt. I was lost in thought. I’m emailing the link to their photos to Leon – subject matter: Serendipity, ’cause that is how it felt finding that blog and that article. (HINT)

Their blog article on Key West is found here.

Their photos of Key West are found here.

Enjoy!

May you find some good in your day. If it feels there isn’t a whole lot (I woke up emotional and moody, too little sleep.), follow a blog you don’t know, serendipity may just leap in to spawn memories that make you flat out grin!

Remember, today is the day of Shelly’s Only the Good Friday meme. Tell the blogosphere about only good today. Let’s get all that positive energy out there.

I read so many RVer blogs that speak of fun; that is their reason for blogging, to share the fun of the lifestyle, the interesting places they have traveled. As life is full of ups and downs, no matter life style or perceived success, I am sure there are others out there who combine that fun with run, whether from uncaring relatives, friends long gone, burnout, lifestyle unmet, relationships unsealed. That is what inspired this poem.

And then, there are those who are not running from, but to, another joy of life; a poem as yet unwritten – by me.

I’d even bet some ran from, then found it more fun to run to. Either way, the joy in travel, in discovery along the way can be fun. Win win, if you were to ask me. But don’t, bother:

I am still Washington bound and Florida tied.
