We were nose down in work at home Friday night, our plans to walk in the somewhat rare cool Florida night thwarted by spending too much time the day before house hunting. The earlier hints nature gave of the evening to be forgotten in numbers and key strokes. Leon ran down to throw a load of laundry in, and my phone rang.

“Stop what you are doing and go outside.”

When he came back upstairs I was still staring at the scene above, iPhone in hand, pictures already snapped. I gave a simple thank you for his call. His reply?

“Well, I had to call you, if you had gone outside later and seen the moon and I had NOT told you, I would never have heard the end of it.”

I started to protest and realized he was, for once, 100% correct. (OK, so, he will argue that statistic!)

This morning I wrote a poem about what I saw, and as usual for me, my first thought about that Light War I saw in nature gave way to a different conclusion.
